Another Open Letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi

It’s been 17 days since I last wrote to you, asking you to start impeachment proceedings against the President.

You have not. And in the interim, especially on social media, I have been accused of being an idiot and an armchair lawyer. It’s been pointed out to me, albeit incorrectly, that I have no idea of how impeachment proceedings work.

The criticism I get is that I am questioning you, specifically. You, who are definitely a brilliant strategist, know what you are doing. Let the Master do her work, I hear. She’s been doing it a long time.

Since May 3, the President has started instructing people to ignore the House leadership, including a subpoena. He’s obstructing in plain sight. A cabinet member has refused the request of Congress to turn over the President’s tax returns.

What is clear is that our President is blatantly refusing to uphold his sworn oath of duty. The example the President sets is that he can, and will, get away with anything he wants. Very dangerous precedent is being set. Our democracy is not working. It is becoming a farce, because checks and balances are gone. The President is demonstrating that our three branches of government are not co-equal, by defying Congress.

And yet, there is no impeachment inquiry.

I have always voted. However, I know there are scores of people who say Both parties are the same, it doesn’t matter, I am not voting. I have always loudly pointed out the…
